I was a Lid by Manchester Orchestra

I am afraid of the good and bad beneath me
So give me a sign for the angels on my feet
    I was a man yeah I swear I was a man
So keep me alive for the angels in my feet

one of the most over-looked Manchester Orchestra songs,
    This song is absolutely incredible.

  10. I’ll always draw from my experiences because that’s the material that’s most readily available. But I don’t make any bones about drawing from other people’s experiences. Also, when I write a song, the pronoun is really not important. I’ll even forget sometimes and sing the wrong pronoun, whether it’s she or he or it or I or you. Because they’re all interchangeable. It’s what comes after that, the rest of the line – that’s where the truth is going to be.
